Second Wind Pulmonary Education Classes

The Second Wind Pulmonary Education classes are designed to help those with lung disease manage difficult breathing, anxiety, cough, and loss of energy. “Why Can’t I Breathe” is taught by a registered nurse who will explain different types of breathing problems, teach breathing retraining exercises and review medications and oxygen. “Learning to Breathe Better” is taught by an occupational therapist who will address anxiety, discuss relaxation exercises, and teach work simplification/energy conservation techniques for activities of daily living to better manage shortness of breath. Classes are also recommended for families and caregivers.  For more information, please call 412.942.2008. There is no charge for the classes.

“Why Can’t I Breathe” is the first class listed each month; “Learning to Breathe Better” is the second class listed each month. You may register for one or both classes.
