Lady Colts Go Pink For A Cure

The Chartiers Valley Lady Colts soccer team is ditching school colors and going pink for an October game, and the girls need help to raise money for the cause.

The Oct. 7 game against Canon-McMillan at Chartiers Valley High School Stadium will be a "Pink Out" in support of breast cancer research, and the team will don colors appropriate to the cause—pink warmup t-shirts, pink ribbons, and a field decorated accordingly.

During the event—and before it even starts—the team will be raising money to donate to the Pittsburgh chapter of the Susan G. Koman Foundation.

Proceeds from a 50/50 drawing and from the sale of pink towels for $5 will be donated to the foundation. In addition, the girls are getting sponsors of either a flat rate donation, or a per-goal donation scored between the varsity and junior varsity teams.

The girls also are collecting donations of any amount from classmates, family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and local businesses.

All donations will be made directly to Komen Pittsburgh, and donors will be mailed a receipt.
