Xfinity TV’s “Summer of Kids” has launched, adding value to Comcast customers’ subscriptions by making available more than 1,000 kid-friendly TV episodes and films that can be downloaded directly to tablets and smartphones and enjoyed when there’s no internet connection in the car, on the plane or on the beach.
Sprout and Kabillion have joined Starz, Encore, MoviePlex and Showtime as networks offering kids content – included as part of a customer’s respective Xfinity Digital TV, Streampix and premium subscriptions – that can be downloaded directly to digital devices via the free Xfinity TV Player App. Some family-friendly content from Warner Brothers and Cookie Jar, offered via Xfinity Streampix, is also downloadable as part of “Summer of Kids,” which runs through August 4.
Customers headed to East Coast summer destinations like Ocean City, MD, Ocean City, NJ, Atlantic City, NJ, Wildwood, NJ and Rehoboth Beach, DE can also access hundreds of Xfinity WiFi hotspots at any time using their Comcast ID – hotspots that also will be available to anyone with a WiFi-enabled device from July 15-31. Search for them using the free Xfinity WiFi App.

Of course, these choices and many, many more are also available at home by choosing the “Summer of Kids” folder on the Xfinity On Demand menu and can be streamed online at Xfinity.com/TV.
Among the networks and brands making kids content available on Xfinity On Demand and at Xfinity.com/TV are Nick Jr., Disney, Cartoon Network, Angry Birds, PBS Kids Go, The HUB, Dreamworks and NBC Universal. Among available shows are Dora The Explorer, Phineas and Ferb, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Sofia the First, Caillou, Sesame Street and Sid the Science Kid.

And to make it easier for parents to manage the content available to kids, Comcast has launched a Parental Controls microsite at http://xfinity.comcast.net/parents/ that demonstrates how to use parental controls across platforms (TV, online, mobile) to meet a family’s needs.
