According to the township, the event is designed to build awareness about the importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning. The lesson will run for 30 minutes, and free swimming instruction will be offered for all ages during that session. Children ages 3 to 18 are welcome to take part.

The Water Park’s certified swim instructors will lead the lesson along with staff from Goldfish Swim School in Wexford. The event is being presented as a local effort tied to a broader water safety message, with instruction centered on helping children learn swimming skills.

Families planning to attend should arrive early for check-in. Participants may check in beginning at 6:30 p.m., and all swimmers must be checked in by 6:50 p.m., according to the release. The lesson itself is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

Township officials did not list a registration deadline, but residents are encouraged to to sign up online in advance. More information and registration are available at cranberrytownship.org/waterpark.

The event gives local families a free chance to connect with certified instructors while reinforcing a basic safety lesson at the start of the summer swim season. The township’s announcement frames the program around drowning prevention and swim education for children.
