Restaurant Near Cranberry Launches Summer Patio Music Series

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA —Walnut Grill is bringing a new summer music series to its Wexford location, with three “Jam At Walnut” events planned for June, July and August.

The restaurant said the events will be held on its patio, weather permitting, on Saturday, June 27, Saturday, July 25, and Friday, Aug. 14.

The new series follows the end of the long-running “Jam On Walnut” concert and block party series in Pittsburgh’s Shadyside neighborhood. The restaurant said it was one of the original sponsors of that event, which took place annually for more than 20 years before being discontinued this year.

Walnut Grill said many people looked forward to the Shadyside series and that some past attendees now live in the North Hills. In response, the company said it moved quickly to create a similar event at its Wexford restaurant, though on a smaller scale, to offer what it described as a music-filled day for the local community.

“Jam On Walnut in Shadyside was a special summer concert series enjoyed by thousands each summer and was a casual and festive way for folks to connect,” said Kirk Vogel, president of Walnut Grill Holdings. “Our new June through August ‘Jam At Walnut’ event series at our Wexford location is intended to give folks that same experience and community interaction.”

The Wexford events are scheduled to feature multiple local bands from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on each of the three dates, according to Walnut Grill. The restaurant also said it will offer special restaurant features during the events.

Walnut Grill said the series will also continue a charitable piece tied to the former Shadyside event. According to the announcement, “Jam At Walnut” will partner with Walnut Grill’s primary beneficiary, The Educational Partnership.
