Cranberry Restaurant Cited By State

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — A Cranberry restaurant was ruled out of compliance with health regulations during a recent inspection by state officials.

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture's Bureau of Food Safety found multiple violations at El Gran Patron on Route 228.

Food items including raw shrimp, raw chicken, raw beef, cut tomatoes and cooked vegetable were found in a kitchen cooler at temperatures between 48 and 50 degrees.

Another cooler had shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, pico and cheese stored at temperatures between 47 and 49 degrees. Chicken in the cooler had a temperature of 58 degrees.

Foods stored in coolers must be kept at temperatures of 41 degrees or below.

The restaurant is not utilizing any date marking for prepared or commercially processed foods held more than 24 hours.
