• Special election: Unofficial results show Dukes ahead of Timko (butlereagle.com) — Cranberry residents are poised to get a new voice in Harrisburg, as Democrat Brandon Dukes holds a narrow unofficial lead in the special election for the 12th State House District. Dukes, a Cranberry resident, campaigned on infrastructure, affordability, and education, while Republican Scott Timko, also from Cranberry, emphasized conservative priorities like crime, immigration, and spending cuts.
   

• Part of Franklin Road closes down as third phase of $19 million project begins (wpxi.com) — If you drive Franklin Road in Cranberry, expect closures between Cranberry Commons Drive and Mars Road through Sept. 3 as a $19 million safety upgrade enters its third phase. Crews are widening shoulders, adding turn lanes, and improving drainage, with work extending north toward Peters Road and tying into future development near Route 228 and North Catholic High School.
   

• Joe Rapp, defending District 9 golf champion, takes first Mega Match of 2026: Roundup (butlereagle.com) — Local golf fans can note that Seneca Valley's boys team dominated North Hills at Cranberry Highlands Golf Course, with three Raiders shooting 37 and two more carding 38. The wider roundup also highlights strong early-season performances from District 9 and KSAC golfers at courses across the region.
