Cranberry Twp. Library Books & Bagels book club win books

  When a few members of the Cranberry Library Books & Bagels club attended the Monday Night Lectures at Carnegie Music hall in March, they all signed to win free books for their book club. The winner could pick any paperback from the upcoming fall/winter 2013-14 schedule. Books & Bagels club member Marilyn McElhinney's name was picked & the word spread quick that we had WON!!! We meet once / month on the 3rd Wed. at 10AM at the Cranberry Twp. library. We all had to wait till the last lecture in April to see who was speaking for the fall/winter series. It was decided we'd like to have "The House at Sugar Beach" by Helene Cooper who will speak in Feb. 2014. The books were shipped to the library & members picked up their books at the May 15th meeting. After we hear Helene Cooper in Feb. & have all read our books, we'll donate them back to the Butler County Library system for a book club kit. Also after our meeting, we met at Siba's restaurant where member Marge Marine's daughter had arranged a surprise 80th birthday party!!! A GREAT time was had by all. How can you top 17 women (men ARE welcome too) discussing a great book over coffee & bagels, receiving a free book, then going to a wonderful restaurant for a surprise birthday party??
