Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau Celebrates National Tourism Week with Toast to Tourism Event
Toast to Tourism is an annual event held of the first Thursday of every May.
On Thursday May 5th, over 200 guests gathered at The Atrium in Prospect, PA to celebrate the annual Toast to Tourism event with Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau (BCTCB).
The highlight of the evening was the grant presentations to several deserving organizations. Of the 21 applications for the 2016 grants, nine were awarded to the following; Butler Downtown, Butler County Airport Authority, Buffalo Township, Mars Area History and Landmarks Society, Butler County Parks and Recreation, Glade Run Lake Conservancy, Allegheny Aquatic Alliance, Get Fit Families, LLC and Butler Fall Festival.
“Our work in the tourism industry is really about the people and their quality of life,” said Jack Cohen, President of Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau. "Our jobs are to share the county's rich history and its exciting attractions and tonight is about recognizing those organizations that make Butler County great, not just for those who live here but for our visitors."

The sit-down dinner was catered by Medure's Catering, Anna Marie's Winery & Café, a new business opening this summer, provided wine tastings while another new business, Reclamation Brewing Company was also on site serving beer. The band, Todd Wehr, Dennis McCurdy, Carrie Baker, Gary Matassa, and Jeff Scheller all met and performed for the first time together at Toast to Tourism. Each member is from a local Butler County business.
