Cranberry To Hold Special Needs Expo
A former Steeler, Paralympian athlete and local musician will be among those speaking at the event.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - People with special needs often face unconventional challenges when placed in conventional environment. They can face daunting physical, mental and emotional tests that others might not even realize.
The Cranberry Area Diversity Network’s Special Needs Coalition will hold an Abilities Expo on Nov. 1 to put in the spotlight the knowledge, skills and abilities that special needs people bring to the community. The event, which is open to everyone, will take place from 4-9 p.m in the township municipal center.
Special guests will include for Steeler Jon Kolb, Paralympic gold medalist Dan McCoy and Pittsburgh music legend Joe Grushecky. Each will discuss their respective experiences in dealing with special needs in talk that begin at 4 p.m. 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.

Resource tables from organizations offering information and services to the special needs community will be in place throughout the event. Other specialist presentations concerning diagnosis, education and advocacy will begin at 6:15 p.m.
The event, jointly sponsored by Cranberry Township, the Cranberry Public Library, the Rose E. Schneider YMCA, and the Disability Options Network under the direction of CADN, is free. But space is limited and online registration is recommended.
