Cranberry To Host Menoah Lighting Ceremony
The celebration will include food and games, township officials said.
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - People of all faiths are invited to attend the township's annual menorah lighting ceremony on Dec. 22 at 5 p.m. The township hosts the privately underwritten event, now in its seventh year.
In addition to the lighting celebration, the event will feature traditional foods, games and music.
Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem in 165 B.C. It celebrates the successful revolt by Jewish Maccabee rebels against the forces of Antiochus IV, whose army had trashed the Temple.
