Cranberry Plans Virtual Memorial Day Service
An online Memorial Day service will replace the traditional one this year.
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - Cranberry's traditional Memorial Day service to honor the sacrifices made by those who served their country can't occur as usual this year because of the coronavirus outbreak. But the township is planning a virtual service to ensure the tradition continues.
An online Memorial Day service will occur May 24 at 1 p.m., with a video service posting on the township's social media feeds and website.
The video will feature the keystone elements of the annual event, including the National Anthem, guest speakers, the release of doves, a 21-gun salute and the ringing of bells in honor of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

A production of the Cranberry Township VFW Post 879, along with the township’s parks and recreation and communications departments, the video serves to make sure those who defend our freedom are remembered and honored no matter the setting.
The video will be available at cranberrytownship.org/memorialday and the township's Facebook page.
