Cranberry Woman Charged With Welfare Fraud
The woman is accused of fraudulently obtaining nearly $5,000 in benefits.
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - A Cranberry woman was among 178 people charged with welfare fraud in Pennsylvania between January 1 and March 31. The Office of State Inspector General filed a third-degree felony charge of fraudulently receiving public assistance against Angela Boyd.
Boyd is charged with committing $4,137 in medical assistance fraud and $625 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program fraud, according to the inspector general's office.
If convicted, Boyd faces up to seven years in prison, a fine of as much as $15,000 and a mandatory disqualification period from the benefits programs allegedly defrauded.
