Building for Bats Program

On Saturday, April 14th from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, Jennings Environmental Education Center will offer a bat awareness and roost box building workshop. Participants will learn how to distinguish bat facts from myths; why bats are currently in trouble; how to exclude bats from homes while providing alternate roosting opportunities; and how to assemble and place roost boxes. Attendees will work in teams to build several boxes, and can take home either a finished box or a box kit. This hands-on, indoor workshop is designed for ages 16 and older. Fee for the program is $20.00 per box or kit requested (minimum 1 box). Participants will need to bring a bag lunch. Enrollment is limited, and this session is likely to fill up fast. Pre-registration is required no later than April 2nd by contacting the Center at 724-794-6011 or online at http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/calendar
