CMU International Justice Mission and Zonta Three Rivers Pittsburgh North announce a free viewing of the documentary about Sex Trafficking of minors in the US:
“Sex and Money: The National Search for Human Worth”.
A brief panel discussion comprised of subject matter experts will follow the film.
Human Trafficking is a $9 billion industry worldwide, second only to drug smuggling. According to the film producers, there are an estimated 100,000 to 300,000 American children commercially sexually exploited each year in the United States.
Zonta Three Rivers Pittsburgh North is a local chapter of Zonta International, a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions working together to advance the status of women locally and globally. Human Trafficking awareness has been an area of focus for the club for several years.
Carnegie Mellon International Justice Mission is a campus chapter of International Justice Mission. IJM is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression across the world. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local officials to ensure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, to prosecute perpetrators and to promote functioning public justice systems.
Registration is not required for this free event. Donations will be collected for Streetlight PHX whose mission is to eradicate child sex trafficking. http://streetlightphx.com/
