Go Wild, Go Birding at Jennings Environmental

Celebrate International Migratory Bird Day at Jennings Environmental Education Center on May 14, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.

Join naturalist and birder Chuck Tague, the Bartramian Audubon Society and the Jennings staff for an early morning walk in search of warblers and other neotropical migrants.  Following the outdoor walk, enjoy specialty, shade-grown coffee brews and snacks courtesy of Birds and Beans™ and the rainforest.

Discover how these beautiful birds live “two lives” as they travel between Pennsylvania and Central/South America each year.

Increasing stress upon rainforests and northern boreal forests due to timbering and agriculture is having a dramatic impact upon the population of these birds.  Learn how simple, personal decisions such as purchasing organic, shade grown coffee and recycled paper products can make a real difference.  Expert and novice birders welcome.  A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow.

Please register online at http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/calendar/ or by calling the Center at 724-794-6011.
