Get Out There and Vote: Election Day is Tuesday

Make sure your voter’s card is handy, because tomorrow is Election Day.

While it’s not a presidential election year – when voters are most likely to turn out – there are plenty of reasons to exercise your right to vote.

Local elections are of particular importance. These candidates are the people who will represent you when it comes to determining tax rates, drafting new ordinances and reviewing the businesses that enter the community.

After , there are two candidates left in the running for two open six-year-terms for Cranberry Township’s Board of Supervisors. Incumbent Board Chairman and Supervisor defeated fellow Republicans , and in the spring. Because no Democrats – barring write-in votes – are running, the two winners of the primary election should have an automatic victory in Tuesday’s election.

From his involvement in the Cranberry Township Community Chest, Mazzoni is a familiar face to many in the area. A retired chemical engineer, he was first elected to the township’s board of supervisors in 2006. Learn more about Mazzoni by clicking .

There also are a handful of people running for seats on the Seneca Valley School Board. Four candidates are seeking election to four four-year terms. Two of the contested races were settled in the May primary. The other two races were uncontested.

In Region 2 representing , of Cranberry Township is running on both the Republican and Democrat ballots.

In Region 3 representing Cranberry Township, incumbent school board member and board President of Cranberry Township is seeking re-election. He is the sole candidate running on both ballots for one vacant seat.

In Region 7, , a benefits consultant, of Evans City, is running on both tickets for the seat representing Evans City and Seven Fields. She defeated incumbent in the May primary.

In Region 6, staged a successful last minute write-in campaign during the May primary to win the empty seat representing Zelienople. There were no official candidates on the ballot. He was appointed to the school board in June after the r
