Memory Bear Reunion Ceremony and Bereavement Presentation

VITAS Healthcare is inviting members of the community in need of grief support to its quarterly Memory Bear Reunion Ceremony and Bereavement Presentation on Thursday, November 8 from 2 to 3 p.m. at La Roche College Campus in the Kearns Spirituality Center in the Retreat Center Lounger located at 9000 Babcock Blvd., Allison Park, PA 15101. During the ceremony, pre-registered participants will be presented with a VITAS Memory Bear by the staff members that cared for their loved one.

A memory bear is a stuffed teddy bear, sewn from items of the patients clothing, for example, a favorite pair of jeans, a shirt, a nightgown, a Stealers jersey or anything else the family requests. The teddy bears are stitched with love by dedicated VITAS volunteers and have been known to help with the grieving process.
