North Washington Volunteer Fire Department to Host 57th Annual North Washington Rodeo
The North Washington Rodeo is slated for August 16th-20th at North Washington Rodeo Arena in Petrolia.

Butler County is known for its vast farmlands, rich history and small town feel but what many people don't realize is that Butler County is home to one of the largest rodeos in the country. The North Washington Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 57th annual rodeo. August 16th-20th at North Washington Rodeo Arena.
Throughout the week, thousands will gather to watch various rodeo events such as, saddle and bareback bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping, bull riding, a chance to meet the 2016 Rodeo Queen and more. Children will also have an opportunity to participate in a stick horse race for a chance to win a prize.
In August 1959, the first North Washington Rodeo was held on a rented 20 acre piece of land with bales of hay used as extra seating. Since then, the rodeo has grown from a small event on rented land to a fully sanctioned arena by the International Professional Rodeo Association that hosts over 10,000 people per year. The North Washington Rodeo was voted the number two outdoor rodeo in the world by contestants of the International Professional Rodeo Association.

“This is a unique event to our region that thousands of people attend each year," said Jack Cohen, President of Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau. “The North Washington Rodeo is a one-of-a-kind experience that adds an unexpected flare to what makes Butler County so remarkable."
Ticket prices are $14.00 for adults and $6.00 for kids, but there are discounted prices offered online. All proceeds from the event benefit the North Washington Volunteer Fire Department for the purchase of new, updated equipment as well as further modifications to the rodeo and arena. North Washington Volunteer Fire Department
The North Washington Volunteer Fire Department is located in North Washington, Pennsylvania and services all of Washington Township, as well as parts of Parker and Concord Townships in Butler County and assists nearby communities in special situations. Since 1959, they have been the host of the North Washington Rodeo, which is an all professional rodeo in Butler, PA.
