Recent Seneca Valley Graduate Wins National Merit Scholarship

Danielle Matz was one of 19 area students to receive the prestigious honor.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - Recent Seneca Valley High School graduate Danielle Matz is among 19 southwestern Pennsylvania high school students receiving National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities across the country.

The awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship. This year, 182 higher education institutions are underwriting the program.

Matz, who graduated last month, plans to attend Michigan State University to study veterinary medicine. Here’s who else received the scholarships, where they will attend college and their probable career choices:
