Seneca Valley 4th-Grader To Participate In National Educational Program
Rowan Elementary School student Sydney Brower heads to West Chester in July.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - Sydney Brower, a fourth-grader at Rowan Elementary School in the Seneca Valley School District, will travel to West Chester this summer to participate in the National Youth Leadership Forum Pathways to STEM.
Held in July on college campuses across the country, the program familiarizes students in grades three through five with professional fields such as software development, science and more. Sydney will spend six days studying engineering, medicine and forensic science with hands-on simulations and workshops.
“Scholars will scrub in as doctors, build robots and investigate classic ‘whodunit’ crimes,” said Andrew Potter, chief academic officer for the leadership forum’s Pathways to STEM. “Each experience is designed to tap into a student’s natural curiosity. For many, this is the beginning of a lifelong passion for a special area of interest.”
