Seneca Valley Appoints New Middle School Assistant Principal

Bridget Miller has been with the district for more than two decades.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - When the Seneca Valley School District begins classes in a few weeks, Evans City Middle School will have a new assistant principal. School directors have appointed longtime district teacher Bridget Miller to the position.

Miller has been with Seneca Valley since 1997, where she served for 18 years as a special education teacher of third and fourth grade students. In 2015, she moved to a fourth grade general education classroom at Evans City Elementary School.

“After spending the past 21 years teaching for the Seneca Valley School District, I am thoroughly excited to move into an administrative role,” Miller said in a district release. “It will be an honor to work alongside the individuals who have mentored, encouraged and guided me throughout my teaching career.”

The new administrative position was created to allow full-time assistant principal coverage at the building, as well as at Haine Middle School. Previously, the position was shared with HMS, requiring one person to travel and work between the two schools.

Miller earned her bachelor’s degree in special education and elementary education from Edinboro University and her master’s degree in special education from Slippery Rock University. Miller also has post-graduate principal certification Point Park University.

Additionally, Miller has previous coaching experience, served as an extended school year camp instructor in 2016 and 2017 and was department chair for the past two years.
