Seneca Valley Raider Gear Sales To Benefit Special Ed Students

The new gear kiosk now is open at the high school.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - Seneca Valley Raider t-shirts, sweatshirts and jogger pants are now for sale in a newly-opened kiosk at the high school designed by graphic arts skills students.

The kiosk is run by life skills students looking to develop and enhance vocational skills to obtain and maintain employment as well as improve their social skills through interaction with their peers. Graphic Arts students are gaining entrepreneurial skills as they learn the key aspects of starting and running a business.

All revenue from Raider gear sales will go to the Special Education Department.

“The skills that students gain here will easily transfer into the community,” Jerry Miller, Seneca Valley Special Education Director, said in a district release. “This will also provide our special needs students those skills necessary for independence.”

The concept for this apparel booth was presented to the special education department by the graphic arts department last year. The startup funds for the cart came from money generated from SV’s coffee shop, Raider Roast.

Although the kiosk is not open to the public, future plans call for its possible use at public events.
