CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — Liam Volk-Klos likely won't have any difficulty getting into the college of his choice. The Seneca Valley High School senior pulled off one of the rarest academic feats: scoring a perfect 1600 on the SAT will also receiving a perfect composite score of 36 on the ACT.

How hard are those accomplishments to achieve? According to Seneca Valley officials, only about 500 of the two million students who take the SAT earn the highest score. Less than 1 percent of those taking the ACT achieve a perfect score; in 2020, only 5,579 out of 1.67 million students were able to do it.

“We would like to congratulate as well as celebrate such a rare and distinguishing accomplishment,” Seneca Valley Senior High School principal Bob Ceh said in a district news release. “The wealth of knowledge and problem-solving ability that is required to score a perfect on both exams is something that is hardly ever seen in high schools.”
