• Sands of Secane started with a horseshoe fan 12 years ago (delcotimes.com) — An annual horseshoe tournament at the Upper Darby Detachment of the Marine Corps League has grown into a key local fundraiser, drawing players from around the region and honoring late supporters. Held the Saturday before Labor Day, it raises money for veterans' programs, offers cash prizes, and is already scheduled to return in 2027.
• Testimony in rape case gets underway in Delaware County Court (delcotimes.com) — A 21-year-old Upper Darby man is on trial in Delaware County Court, accused of raping a woman during an August 2025 encounter at his home. Jurors heard detailed testimony from the alleged victim and a friend, along with text messages between the two, as the case continues Thursday.
