On April 5, Cub Scouts from Pack 870 & Boy Scouts from Troop 23 and their parents will be placing cards on each door in every household in Dormont asking that residents place donations in a plastic bag on your front porch on April 12, 2014.
Scouting for Food is targeted primarily at collecting canned foods, particularly canned products having a high nutritional value. In addition to food; paper products, soap, and bulk packages of household commodities are needed. Emphasis is placed on certain recommended products. The recommended list is shown below.
• cereals
• canned stews
• canned meat
• canned tuna
• peanut butter
• canned vegetables
• canned fruit
• Paper products
• household products
• soap (laundry and bath)
All kinds of canned fruits, vegetables, and canned products are welcome, as well as sealed, dry packaged foods such as cereals.

All the food collected will be delivered to the Brookline Christian Food Pantry. The is the Food Pantry that services residents of Dormont.
