Brookline Bank Robbery Suspect Found Dead In Jail
Joel Valasquez-Reyes also had been charged with robbing a South Side bank.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Allegheny County police are investigating the death of an Allegheny County jail inmate from Brookline charged last month with robbing banks in Brookline and the South Side.
Joel Valasquez-Reyes, 39, was found dead about 8 p.m. Saturday. The county medical examiner’s office has not yet released the cause and manner of death.
Valasquez-Reyes was charged with holding up at gunpoint the Dollar Bank on East Carson Street in April and the Community Bank on Brookline Boulevard last month. He was charged with robbery, carrying a firearm without a license, criminal conspiracy and reckless endangerment.
