Brookline Man Charged With Stalking, Harassment

BROOKLINE, PA - An analyst in the Allegheny County Controller Chelsa Wagner’s office faces criminal charges for allegedly submitting anonymous complaints about his former boyfriend to Pittsburgh city officials.
James Sheppard, 31, of Brookline, is charged with stalking, harassment and unlawful use of a computer. Sheppard is a one-time aide to former Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl.
The criminal complaint alleges Sheppard filed two anonymous complaints about the ex-boyfriend via the city’s Community Safety website. The former boyfriend told authorities he is attempting to become a city police officer.

Sheppard admitted to sending the complaints when questioned by police, according to the criminal complaint. He also admitted to sending multiple text messages to the former boyfriend, according to the complaint.
Sheppard faces a Jan. 11 preliminary hearing in Pittsburgh Municipal Court.
