Backyard Coops: Urban Chicken Farming

Interested in keeping backyard chickens? Join representatives from the Uniontown Poultry Authority and a few of their feathered friends to learn about the ins and outs of chicken coops, feed, local laws and guidelines.The Uniontown Poultry Authority is a nonprofit organization that was first incorporated in 1928.  They host nine Poultry and Small Stock Buy-Sell-Trade events per year, as well as a Spring (April) and Fall (October) Poultry Show.  Between them, presenters Liesa Stiller, Krista S. Martin and Steve Stanish have more than a decade of experience in raising a variety of chickens for eggs, meat and poultry shows.  In addition to chicken farming, Steve also serves as a Certified Poultry Technician with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
