Free Education for Families of Individuals with Mental Ilness

NAMI Southwestern PA sponors at free 11 week education & support program for relatives of someone living with a severe mental illness. The course focuses on brain disorders sucha as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, co-occurring mental illness and addictive disorders, and borderline personality disorder. Participants learn about handling crises and relapses; communication techniques; problem solving and limit setting; stress reduction; medications; community services and support; as well as advocacy.

Classes begin Tues. August 30, 6:30 - 9 pm. Contact NAMI at (412) 366-3788 to register for classes.
