GoFundMe Effort Launched To Aid Dormont Fire Victims
One person died in the early Saturday blaze.

DORMONT, PA - A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to aid the family whose Peermont Avenue home was destroyed in a fatal fire early Saturday.
A relative of the family, Krystal Scott, started the GoFundMe effort following the fire, which she said claimed the life of her elderly aunt, Harriet Stacey. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to formally identify the victim.
Two dogs also perished in the fire, according to Scott, who said one adult occupant of the house is in a hospital trauma unit after suffering severe smoke inhalation.

In addition to the GoFundMe campaign, the Keystone Oaks School District and the Golden Eagles Boys Soccer team have organized a donation drive to be done at the two remaining boys soccer home games Monday and Tuesday evening at Dormont Stadium.
In lieu of admission to the game, a donation can be made to the family. The boys soccer boosters will have a collection set up near the entrance to the stadium each night. The district requests that everyone gives at least the cost of admission to the game, but any donation amount will be accepted.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
