A man told a relative he was going to set his Brookline home on fire and did just that, according to authorities.

BROOKLINE, PA β€”A Brookline man's relative called 911 Saturday morning to report that he was threatening to set his home on fire and was seen pouring lighter fluid throughout the residence on a FaceTime call.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials, when police and firefighters arrived at the home in the 1500 block of Ballinger Street at around 11:45 a.m., they found the man barricaded inside the home. The man eventually surrendered and when officers entered the residence they found smoke and flames coming from a doorway.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze as the man, who had two weapons on him, was taken into custody and is expected to face charges.
