Police Seek Help In Identifying Sex Assualt Suspect

The victim was a juvenile female.

DORMONT, PA - Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile female in the borough on March 28.

According to police, the victim was walking home around 11:15 p.m. when she noticed a suspicious male following behind her. The male eventually caught up with her, grabbed her and then pulled her into an abandoned garage in an alleyway where the sexual assault occurred.

After the assault, the male was seen walking towards the Potomac Station T-stop located at Broadway and Potomac avenues. The victim described the actor as a black male, wearing a dark colored jacket and a neon orange knit cap. Further investigation found surveillance video of a male subject matching that general description, but his identity is currently unknown.

Anyone with information concerning the identity of the person of interest is asked to call Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers at (412) 255-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of individuals wanted for featured crimes. Callers may remain anonymous.
