Dormont's Potomac Avenue To Close For Rehab Work

Closure to occur next week, with a three-month reconstruction project on the way in June.

DORMONT, PA - It’s going to be challenging next week to get to places such as the Hollywood Theater, the Dor-Stop restaurant, Potomac Bakery and other Potomac Avenue businesses. Beginning May 15, the street will be closed for a week during the day from West Liberty Avenue to Espy Avenue.

Potomac will close between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. so the borough can upgrade street pavers, plant a dozen trees in the tree boxes, repair a section of storm sewer, paint parking space pavers, paint the stop bar near the light at West Liberty Avenue and reset pavers along flush curbing to remove gaps.

The second phase of the street’s reconstruction project is tentatively slated to begin June 20 and continue until the end of September.
