Resurfacing Around Liberty Tunnel Could Cause Weekend Delays

DORMONT, PA - The Liberty Bridge and tunnel will be open this weekend, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be traffic trouble in the vicinity.

PennDOT plans to resurface Route 51 (Saw Mill Run Boulevard) on Saturday, resulting in single-lane restrictions from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. If the work is canceled Saturday because of bad weather, the restrictions will be in place Sunday for the same period.

The resurfacing will take place between in both directions between Bausman and Crane avenues. PennDOT officials say motorists should expect delays and allow extra time if driving through the work area.
