South Hills Power Yoga Joins in Yoga Festival Saturday
The event will be held at Point State Park and also feature a Healthy Lifestyle Expo.

Western Pennsylvania's first-ever yoga festival will be held this Saturday, July 28, from sunrise at 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Point State Park in downtown Pittsburgh—and South Hills Power Yoga of is one of the participants.
“Pittsburgh’s yoga scene is booming and there are more small businesses in Pittsburgh dedicated to health and wellness than ever before,” said Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, who declared this as Yoga Week in Pittsburgh. “This fun, family-friendly event gives people the opportunity to learn and take part in healthy-active living in one of the nation’s most beautiful urban parks.”
One WHIRL Yoga Fest + Healthy Lifestyle Expo will feature classes and specialty workshops from 25 of the top yoga instructors in the region. Yoga ambassadors include: , BYS Yoga, Schoolhouse Yoga, Moonglow Yoga, Himalayan Institute of Pittsburgh, Fitwell Studios, Bikram Yoga Pittsburgh, YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh and Yoga Flow.

Special guests include Sherri Baptiste of the world-renowned Baptiste Power of Yoga, and Pittsburgh native Jim Donovan, formerly of Rusted Root, who will both lead workshops.
“It is clear that Greater Pittsburgh is a leader in the healthy lifestyle movement,” says WHIRL Magazine Publisher Jack Tumpson, who created the event with his wife, Christine Tumpson, editor-in-chief of the magazine.

“We are encouraging everyone to take alternative modes of transportation, especially bikes,” says WHIRL Editor-in-Chief Christine Tumpson.
Bike Pittsburgh will be on-site to valet bicycles. There will also be a Kids Tent where children will be able to partake in kid and family-friendly yoga classes.
Tickets are just $15 for a full-day of classes and a $10 student ticket is also available.
