Southbound West Liberty Avenue Ramp To Close

The ramp to Saw Mill Run Boulevard won't reopen for at least 10 days.

DORMONT, PA - Expect traffic tie-ups near the Liberty Tunnel’s southern portal for at least 10 days, as PennDOT plans to close the southbound West Liberty Avenue ramp to southbound Saw Mill Run Boulevard.

The ramp will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday until June 19 to allow crews to conduct concrete patching, install Americans with Disabilities Act curb cut ramps and make drainage improvements.

The official detour:

Traffic from northbound Route 19 and northbound Route 51 will use the ramp to northbound Route 51 (North Truck US 19/51 toward West End).

  • Take the exit to I-376 West/US 19 South toward Carnegie/Airport/West End
  • Take Exit 69A toward US 19 South/Banksville Road
  • Keep left toward South Truck US 19/51 Uniontown
  • Take Exit 69B toward South Truck US 19/51 toward Uniontown
  • Follow Truck US 19/51 (Saw Mill Run Boulevard) southbound
  • End detour

Also, traffic on southbound Saw Mill Run Boulevard will be crossed over into the northbound lanes at the bridge over West Liberty Avenue. A single-lane restriction will occur on southbound Saw Mill Run for approximately one hour beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday. Crews will conduct line painting operations prior to implementing the new configuration.
