Bucks Co. Detective Recognized With Prestigious JUSTYS Award

DOYLESTOWN, PA — A detective with the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office has been honored with the Voice for the Voiceless Cellebritr JUSTYS Digital Justice Award. The award was presented Tuesday evening to Eric Landamia at the C2C User Summit in Washington, D.C.

The Voice for the Voiceless award acknowledges investigators who utilize digital forensics to advocate for victims and provide critical clarity in criminal investigations.

Detective Landamia was nominated by his supervisor, Detective Lieutenant Timothy Perkins, for his exceptional expertise and commitment to staying at the forefront of evolving digital technology.

“His training and experience are second to none,” Perkins wrote in nominating Detective Landamia. “Through his county-wide assistance, he has made the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, his colleagues, and the Bucks County Law Enforcement community very proud. His tireless investigative efforts and relentless pursuit of justice make him an excellent nominee for Voice for the Voiceless Award.”

A veteran investigator, Detective Landamia has been recognized in several courts as an expert in mobile device forensics. His work has been pivotal in a wide range of high-profile cases, including:

• Commonwealth v. AnnaMarie Tolomello: Landamia recovered deleted home security footage and analyzed Apple Health data to refute the defendant’s version of events, proving the suspect was active on her phone during the timeframe she claimed to be under duress.

• Commonwealth v. Stephen Capaldi: Despite the suspect’s use of “incognito” modes and habitual data deletion, Detective Landamia recovered hidden search queries regarding the disposal of evidence. He also used iPad and iPhone device events to prove the crime scene had been staged.

• Commonwealth v. Angelina Urumova: In a display of forensic accuracy, Landamia used recovered mobile data to prove that an accusation of attempted rape was fabricated. His findings led to the exoneration of a man who had been wrongfully jailed for 31 days and the subsequent prosecution of the false reporter.

• Commonwealth v. George Clark: In a murder case that had remained unsolved for nearly eight years, Landamia recovered a single, critical text message. This evidence led to a confession and the eventual conviction of two co-conspirators.

“In the modern era of law enforcement, cases are often solved often by tracking the digital footprints left behind,” District Attorney Joe Khan said. “Detective Landamia’s extraordinary skill in navigating these complex digital landscapes has been the cornerstone in some of our most difficult cases. Whether he is uncovering hidden evidence in a homicide or exonerating the wrongfully accused, Eric’s work ensures that the truth is heard loud and clear.”

Khan said detective Landamia’s work continues to bolster the capabilities of the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and provides a vital service to the residents of Pennsylvania.
