DOYLESTOWN, PA — Bucks Beautiful will celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day with two engaging events focused on sustainability, education, and environmental stewardship.

On Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., volunteers are invited to participate in the organization’s RePlant Bucks initiative at Peace Valley Park. The hands-on tree planting event welcomes participants of all experience levels — from seasoned gardeners to first-time volunteers — who want to make a lasting impact on the local environment.

The group will meet at the Angler’s Pier Parking Lot on Creek Road in Doylestown, near the intersection of Cheese Factory Road. Registration is suggested but not required.

Continuing the celebration of sustainable practices, Bucks Beautiful will host the next installment of its Educational Lecture Series on Thursday, April 30, featuring “Composting for a Sustainable Future.” The presentation will be led by Heather Guidice, founder of Kona Compost Company, and will be held at the James Lorah House in Doylestown.

The informative session will explore how food and yard waste — often seen as unavoidable — can be transformed into a valuable, nutrient-rich resource. Attendees will learn the benefits of composting, practical do’s and don’ts, and a range of methods to begin or enhance their composting practices.

Admission is $10 for the general public, $5 for Bucks County Master Gardeners, and free for Bucks Beautiful and VIA members. Tickets and memberships may be purchased online, by calling 215-340-3639, or at the door.

The program is sponsored by Mike Feeney of Feeney's Nursery and the Doylestown Village Improvement Association.
