Peddler's Village Celebrates The Strawberry This Weekend

The popular spring weekend will include live entertainment, the Great Strawberry Strut, strawberry-themed foods, and lots more.

LAHASKA, PA — The strawberry will reign supreme this weekend at Peddler's Village, the popular Bucks County shopping, dining, and entertainment destination in Lahaska.

Taking place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days, the festival will include strawberry-themed food and beverages, including strawberry pies, desserts, and fritters, live music and entertainment, food trucks, activities, and pie-eating contests.

On Sunday, guests who dress up in their “berry best” strawberry-themed attire can enter The Great Strawberry Strut for a chance to win a prize. Peddler's Village shops will be open until 8 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free. The presenting sponsor of this year’s Strawberry Festival is Pepsi.

The Strawberry Festival will include games, axe throwing, kids crafts and face painting, gem mining, and a mobile gel blaster battlefield. An Artisan Marketplace on the Street Road Green will feature a dozen specialty makers showcasing handcrafted woodwork, distinctive jewelry, and other crafted items.

On Saturday and Sunday, a pie-eating contest for adults and children will take place at 2:30 p.m. (registration begins a.m. at the kiosk on the Village Green) and on Sunday, guests who come in strawberry-themed outfits can participate in The Great Strawberry Strut from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The grand prize winner of The Great Strawberry Strut will receive a trophy, ribbon, and swag bag, and all guests who participate are also entered into a giveaway to win a $100 Peddler’s Village gift card.

Live music will include performances by local musicians and performers, with special entertainment by Martin & Kelly on Sunday, May 3 from 3 to 6 p.m. Outdoor food, drinks, strawberry-themed baked goods, including fritters, stuffed French toast, cobbler cookies, crunch donuts, snack cakes, and scones, and fresh strawberries can be purchased at the outdoor stands, including the Water Wheel Food Tent, or guests can dine at food trucks and village restaurants and eateries for strawberry-themed menu specials. Double-crust strawberry pies and pie slices will be available for purchase during the festival weekend (while supplies last).

VIP pre-paid parking passes will be available for purchase before the festival for $25 and include a guaranteed parking spot behind the Visitor & Event Center as well as a Peddler’s Village souvenir. Check-in for VIP parking is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. Admission to the Strawberry Festival is free; food, drinks, and some activities are pay-as-you-go. On the first Friday of every month through September, guests can enjoy special dining promotions at select Village restaurants. On May 1, in celebration of Strawberry Festival, the Cock ‘n Bull, Hart’s Tavern, Earl’s New American, and Buttonwood Grill will be offering buy-one-get-one-50 percent-off on all desserts, including specialty strawberry desserts, in addition to other dining promotions.

Following the Strawberry Festival weekend, Peddler’s Village restaurants will continue to feature strawberry-themed food and beverages every day in May. Other springtime events include the third annual Best of the Nest: Birdhouse Competition & Display, which takes place through May 25, a Mother’s Day brunch at the Cock ‘n Bull, Buttonwood Grill, and Earl’s New American on May 10, and murder mystery dinners on May 16 and June 6.

This summer, beginning on June 1, Peddler’s Village will also be presenting "Sights in Sand: An American Road Trip," which will feature six majestic sand sculptures depicting iconic landmarks, historic scenes, and the nation’s must-see destinations in celebration of America’s 250th birthday. Beginning in mid-May, guests are invited to watch world-renowned sand sculptors create their work.

In June, Peddler’s Village, in partnership with the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting the Bucks Fever Art & Sculpture Exhibition from June 19 through July 19 as well as Tunes at Noon on Fridays beginning May 15 and continuing through August 28. Artists can apply to be featured in the exhibition; the deadline for registration is May 18.
