Central Bucks Issues Statement Amid Regional School Threats

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Several Bucks County high schools, including Council Rock and Pennsbury, received anonymous threats Monday morning, prompting security responses and law enforcement investigations.

"At this time, no Central Bucks school has received a direct threat," the district said in an email statement sent to parents. "However, we are actively monitoring the situation and are in close communication with local law enforcement to ensure we are prepared to respond quickly if needed."

Police believe the incidents, which have been reported throughout the five-county Philadelphia area, may be part of a hoax or swatting-type situation.

"The Central Bucks School District utilizes the Standard Response Protocol. In circumstances involving a potential threat outside of school, the district may implement a 'secure' status. During 'secure,' exterior doors are locked and normal activities continue within the building while the situation is assessed," the district said.

"We will continue to monitor developments and will communicate directly with you if any situation arises that impacts our schools. If you have or receive any relevant information, contact local law enforcement," the district said.
