WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —A Bristol man is facing a forgery charge for passing counterfeit cash at a gas station in Warrington.
On April 30, police were called to the Sparta Gas Station for a customer who was passing counterfeit currency.
Police said Andy Ruben Rodriguez Anzules, 24, made a purchase using a counterfeit $20 bill. He then returned to the store a short time later and attempted to use another counterfeit $20 bill, police said. This time, he was confronted by store employees who recovered another four counterfeit bills.
Police said the counterfeit money was marked "Motion Picture Purposes" on both sides.
After placing Rodriguez Anzules under arrest, they found another counterfeit bill in his wallet.
He was processed and arraigned by Judge Wertman, who set bail at $20,000 or 10 percent.
Rodriguez Anzules was unable to post bail and was transported to the Bucks County Correctional Facility to await court action on a forgery charge and possession of an instrument of crime.
Intervention Attempt Ends In Injury, Arrest
A 19-year-old man is facing simple assault and harassment charges following a domestic incident in the 300 block of Alexander Court.
Police were called to the scene by the victim, who told police that they were shoved by the teen with both hands when they attempted to intervene in an argument. The victim fell backward, attempted to brace themselves, and was later transported to the hospital with a fractured wrist.
The 19-year-old was arrested at the scene, taken to the station, and processed. He was arraigned before Judge Wertman, who set bail at $20,000, unsecured.
Woman Arrested For Criminal Mischief
Police responded to the Lowe’s store for a report of property damage in the parking lot on April 15. The investigation determined that a 66-year-old woman from Southampton damaged the rear driver’s side door of a vehicle. The victim later provided a repair estimate totaling $1,346.54.
Police Win Battle Of The Badges
The Warrington Township Police Department again claimed victory in the Battle of the Badges American Cross Cross Blood Drive. The Red Cross announced that for the second year in a row, the police department logged more donors than the township's firefighters. "The police department sincerely appreciates all who showed up and donated life-saving blood," said police.
