Arriving crews found Bord in the water, and crews from Rescue 78 launched a "go rescue" to bring him to the creek bank, Warrington Emergency Services reported.

Additional units arrived and developed a rope system to bring the man and the rescuers up the steep bank.

"Unfortunately, the man had succumbed," said fire officials. "Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones at this time."

Police shut down a section of Easton Road where it crosses over the creek and at the nearby entrance to the shopping center during the rescue.

Responding to the incident were the Warrington Township Department of Emergency Services, Warrington Fire Companies No. 1 and 2, the Warminster Fire Department, Northampton Township Fire Department, the Chalfont Fire Company, and Warrington Community Ambulance.
