Out Of This World Dog Prom In Doylestown Raises Thousands For A Woman's Place

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center’s Dog Daycare Prom proved to be truly out of this world this year, raising $2,500 for A Woman’s Place, Bucks County’s only domestic violence response organization.

In recognition of the contribution, A Woman's Place named Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center a pillar sponsor of its 50th Anniversary celebration of advocacy, safety, and
hope.

Held earlier this month, this year’s intergalactic-themed dog prom transformed the resort’s daycare program into a cosmic celebration inspired by space exploration and discovery.

The daycare dogs enjoyed a day filled with playful “zero-gravity” zoomies, themed enrichment activities, and planetary prom portraits — all while helping raise meaningful support for a vital community cause.

The fundraiser invited pet parents to pledge donations in exchange for official prom portraits of their dogs, creating lasting memories while contributing to A Woman’s Place.

The result was a powerful show of support from the Holiday House community, with funds directly supporting services that provide safety, shelter, and advocacy for individuals and families impacted by domestic violence.

“This recognition as a Pillar Sponsor reflects the incredible generosity of our daycare families,” said Dr. Laura Weis, co-owner of Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center. “Our family and our staff are proud to support A Woman’s Place, and it’s clear from the level of donations for this organization that our clients feel the same way.”

As part of this milestone year, representatives from Holiday House will attend A Woman’s Place’s upcoming 50th Anniversary Golden Soirée, held at the historic Pearl S. Buck House. They will represent the collective impact of every client who contributed to the Prom fundraiser — the power of community coming together for a shared purpose.

“While government funding provides critical support for essential services, it does not fully cover the growing and complex needs of survivors and their families. A Woman’s Place relies on the generosity of community donors to bridge these gaps, ensuring that individuals experiencing domestic violence and their children can access comprehensive, responsive, and compassionate support when they need it most. An incredible donation like this can pay for a family of four to stay at our safe house for 11 days,” explains Shannon Ross, director of development at A Woman’s Place.

A Woman’s Place has served Bucks County for five decades as a leading resource for individuals experiencing domestic violence, offering a confidential hotline, emergency shelter, housing services, legal advocacy, counseling, and prevention education. Donations like those raised through the Dog Daycare Prom ensure these essential services remain accessible and free to those who need them most.

The annual Dog Daycare Prom continues to be a signature event at Holiday House, blending creative enrichment experiences for dogs with meaningful opportunities to give back — proving that even a day of play can make a lasting difference.
