JAMISON, PA — Dental occupations student Adeleigh Lautz, a student at the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology, has been selected as a recipient of the 2025–26 Pennsylvania Cooperative Education Association (PCEA) Outstanding Co-op Student Award.

The prestigious statewide recognition honors students who have demonstrated exceptional dedication,

According to the Pennsylvania Cooperative Education Association, Adeleigh’s accomplishments reflect “the
very best of cooperative education” and showcase a commitment to career readiness and future success in the
workforce.

“I was proud to nominate Adeleigh for this award. Adeleigh successfully completed a paid summer internship
that evolved into a senior Cooperative Education placement with Venneri Dental Group, an extremely fast-
paced dental practice. This experience strengthened her hands-on dental assisting skills while enhancing her
teamwork, professionalism, adaptability, and resilience in a real-world clinical setting.” said Cooperative Education Coordinator, Pamela Swoyer. “Adeleigh is currently training her replacement and has become a valued mentor to new hires. Her experiences have inspired her to pursue a pre-dental track in college this fall.”

MBIT’s cooperative education program connects students with industry partners throughout the region, allowing them to gain valuable hands-on experience while preparing for future careers and post-secondary opportunities.

Dental Occupation Instructor Cindy Midgett shared, “My expectation is that every student leaves our program
workforce ready, and cooperative education is where classroom learning becomes real-world success. Adeleigh
exceeded my expectations every step of the way through her exceptional work ethic, determination, and relentless drive to strengthen her clinical skills and apply this experience to her journey toward becoming a dentist. Cooperative education is the pathway and Adeleigh took complete advantage; this is a well deserved award.”

“Cooperative education provides students with an incredible opportunity to connect learning directly to the workforce,” said Dr. Mark Covelle, Administrative Director of MBIT. “Students like Adeleigh are gaining real-world experience, building professional relationships, and developing the skills and confidence that prepare them for success long before graduation. We are so proud of the way Adeleigh distinguished herself among her peers in PA.”
