Retail Theft Spree Ends In Felony Charges For Doylestown Man

Police are accusing the man of stealing close to $3K in merchandise from the Lowe's store in Warrington Township.

WARRINGTON, PA — A Doylestown man is facing felony retail theft charges after allegedly stealing nearly $2,900 worth of merchandise during two separate trips to Lowe’s.

Police were called to investigate two retail theft incidents reported by Lowe’s. Investigators identified 60-year-old Jason Perez Vasquez as the suspect in both thefts.

On April 17, police said Vasquez loaded numerous items, including heaters, into a cart and proceeded to the garden center. Taking advantage of cashiers who were occupied assisting other customers, he walked out of the store wthout paying for the merchandise.

The value of the stolen items totaled $1,694.98.

Less than a month later, on May 16, police said Vasquez returned to the store and carried out a similar scheme. After selecting numerous items, including electrical wire, he again exited through the garden center without paying. The second theft totaled $1,204.97.

The combined value of the stolen merchandise was $2,899.95.

On June 5, Vasquez surrendered to Warrington Police and was processed. He was arraigned by Judge Wertman, who set bail at $60,000 unsecured.

Vasquez is charged with two felony charges for retail theft and receiving stolen property.
