DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA — "The Rooftop," Doylestown's first ever rooftop bar, is celebrating its grand opening with an extended weekend celebration at the Main Street Marketplace.

The opening kicks off an extended weekend celebration with drink specials, giveaways, World Cup Soccer action and live music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday, the rooftop will be open from 11 a.m. to midnight, with live music at 8 p.m., drink specials throughout the day and cabana specials. Cabanas must be reserved in advance.

The new bar extends out onto the rooftop from the third floor of the Marketplace and turns 2,700 square feet into a rooftop bar and lounge area. The space includes private cabanas, TVs, firepits, couches, bar seating, communal seating, heaters and fans. The rooftop has a seating capacity of 200 and will be available for both smaller and larger gatherings.

“You can expect a comfortable variety of couch, bar and communal seating,” said owner Will Wister. “We can't wait for you to experience the Top of Main with us.”

The new bar is the latest addition to Main Street Sport & Social, which the Doylestown native and Central Bucks West graduate launched a number of years ago with Main Street Swing, a four-bay golf simulator. Since then, he has added Bucks County's first Duckpin Bowling Alley, a nine-hole indoor mini-golf course and a third-floor bar area.

“We’re very excited to welcome everyone to come and experience the rooftop for themselves,” said Wister. “We think it’s going to become one of the most unique social destinations in the area. This project was about creating an experience, whether guests are meeting with friends after work or celebrating special occasions or watching a big sports game, the rooftop offers something that hasn’t been available in the area.”

Wister said the rooftop sits at one of the highest points in town and offers expansive southern views, including the Philadelphia skyline and the Roxborough towers on the clearest days. Like the third-floor bar, it will serve locally crafted Pennsylvania-only wine, beer and spirits, including the 1675 craft beer label.

Food will be available through partnerships with Villa Capri and the Side Bar. “You’ll be able to sit out here, order food, and it will be delivered right to you,” said Wister.

Regular hours will be 2 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
