Man Faces Felony Charges Following Theft Spree At Warrington Store

WARRINGTON, PA — A Philadelphia man is facing two felony charges following a retail theft spree at the Wegmans store.

On July 15, police were called to the store for the report a retail theft. Upon arrival, police learned from the store's loss prevention employee that 35-year-old Alexander Yollin was observed selecting several high-priced items.

Police said Yollin then opened and consumed a package of beef jerky without paying for it, and then proceeded to the self-checkout area where he paid only for a few lower-cost items.

After completing the transaction, police said Yollin returned to the sales floor instead of leaving the store. He selected a Ninja blender, concealed it inside one of his shopping bags, and exited the store without paying. The total amount stolen was $75.98.

Yollin was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the station. While being transported to the station, police said Yollin intentionally slammed his head against the partition stating the officer had slammed on the brakes. Yollin told police he was having a panic attack.

As a precaution, police said Warrington Ambulance responded to the police station to evaluate Yollin. However, after speaking with EMS personnel, Yollin refused medical treatment, saying that he did not want to prolong his stay at the station, police said.

Yollin was processed and arraigned by Judge Chicaletti, who set bail at $5,000 or 10 percent cash. Unable to post bail, Yollin was transported to the Bucks County Correctional Facility to await court action.
