K9 Granite Receives Protective Body Armor Thanks To Donation

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks Regional Police Department's K9 Granite has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a generous donation from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

Eileen Green of Doylestown sponsored K9 Granite's vest, which is embroidered with the message, "This gift of protection provided by the Green Family." The protective gear is custom-fitted, made in the United States and certified by the National Institute of Justice, according to Vested Interest in K9s.

For Central Bucks Regional Police, the donation adds another layer of protection for a working police dog assigned to the department.

In early 2025, K9 Granite joined the department as a dual-purpose police service dog specializing in narcotics detection and patrol and protection, including tracking skills, building and article searches, evidence recovery, and criminal apprehension.

Established in 2009, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., is a nonprofit charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs serving with law enforcement and related agencies throughout the nation.

Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s has provided more than 6,513 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states through private and corporate donations.
