DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Thompson Performing Arts Series continues on Wednesday with a free performance by Bon Jovi Tribute Band "Slippery When Wet."
The band is scheduled to take the stage at 7 p.m. at the C&N Amphitheater at Central Park in a high-energy performance of Bon Jovi's timeless anthems, including "Livin' on a Prayer," "You Give Love a Bad Name," "Wanted Dead or Alive," "It's My Life," and many more.
Formed in 2003, the band's creation was inspired by frontman Jason Morey's remarkable resemblance to Jon Bon Jovi — a likeness so convincing that comedian Dave Chappelle once mistook him for the rock icon and invited him backstage after a show. That moment helped launch what has become one of the world's premier tribute acts.
For more than two decades, Slippery When Wet has earned a worldwide reputation for recreating the excitement, musicianship, and arena-sized spectacle of a live Bon Jovi concert. Featuring Morey's vocals and stage presence, the band faithfully performs Bon Jovi's greatest hits while incorporating authentic arrangements from the band's world tours to deliver an unforgettable concert experience.
Since its debut, Slippery When Wet has performed more than 2,300 shows across the United States and around the world, entertaining audiences throughout North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. The band has headlined more than 60 Royal Caribbean cruises, performed during the Super Bowl XLVIII pregame festivities, a finalist on E's Clash of the Cover Bands, and has been featured in the world-famous Legends in Concert, where Morey portrayed Jon Bon Jovi in Las Vegas and on international stages.
In 2007, Slippery When Wet became the only Bon Jovi tribute band officially authorized by Bon Jovi's management, a distinction that reflects the band's commitment to authenticity and professionalism. The group was also personally selected to perform on Jon Bon Jovi's "Runaway to Paradise" cruises, further cementing its reputation as the most respected Bon Jovi tribute act in the world.
In addition to live music, the Thompson Performing Arts series features a weekly beer garden by Warwick Farm Brewing and a variety of food trucks. This week's food trucks include Fuzzy's Munchies, Hot Diggity Dog Cart, Jack and Jill, Kona Ice, Scratch Fry Kitchen, Spuddy Buddy, and Warwick Farm Brewing.
The free musical series is sponsored by The Thompson Organization, which is made up of four dealerships - Thompson Toyota, BMW of Doylestown, Thompson Lexus Doylestown, and Thompson Lexus Willow Grove, as well as Thompson Detail Center and Thompson Collision Center.
